Climate change shifts weather patterns and disrupts ecosystems, while alarmingly impacting infrastructure, food security, and human health.

COLORISM also referred to as racism is the practice of discrimination by which those with lighter skin tones are treated more favorably than those with darker skin tones.

CONSENT occurs when one person agrees to the proposal of another. Such forms of agreement can be either implied or expressed. Implied consent is granted by situations and circumstances, while express consent exists when there is an oral or written agreement, particularly in a contract. Expressed consent can only be given if a person has a clear understanding of communicated facts, implications, and consequences for consent.

COVID-19 is a novel corona virus. Corona viruses are a large group of viruses that can cause illness in humans and animals. They usually cause upper respiratory symptoms such as cough or runny nose. Corona viruses are spread through the air and body contact. The most common symptoms of COVID-19 include fever, dry cough, and fatigue. Other symptoms include shortness of breath which can range from mild to severe, generalized muscle aches and sore throat. Diarrhea, nausea, runny nose, and red eyes are reported but less common. There is an overlap between symptoms of COVID-19 and influenza, common cold, or allergies. It may be difficult to distinguish based on symptoms alone. The only definite way to know whether you have COVID-19 is to be tested by a healthcare provider.

DISINFORMATION is the spread of false information with the intent to deceit. Unlike misinformation which stem from error, disinformation is deliberate falsehoods promulgated by design. Disinformation is used as a weapon for propaganda, oppression, exploitation and amplification of identity-driven controversies.

ELECTION is a formal group decision-making process wherein citizens or representatives elect candidates to hold public office. In most governments, the legislature is elected by its citizens while the head of state or head of government are elected by elected representatives. Elected government is when citizens or elected representatives choose the government and selected government is when non-elected officials or interest group representatives choose the government.

Appropriation of Name or Likeness laws protect your right to control the use of your own identity. Intrusion Upon Seclusion laws protect your right to privacy while you are in solitude or seclusion; this right extends to you or your private affairs. VOTING enables all citizens to choose candidates they feel best fit to speak and act on their behalf. Directly or indirectly, all citizens choose their leaders, because candidates who win elections decide on appointed representatives. Actively or inactively, all citizens vote; people who choose not to cast ballots simply defer their electoral decisions to those who do.
